I'm back! Tennessee is beautiful! You wouldn't tell it was fall as hot as it was. But you know me, I love the heat! We spotted a couple of barns with quilts on the side and even stopped at The Cherry Pit. Of course, I had to buy cherry fabric for the girls (got to keep those quilt shops in business!).
We took a nature walk Wednesday morning at Cade's Cove before we started our workshop with Cindy Blackberg. I was ready to tackle some hand piecing. Pricilla (Cindy's helper) said I was a natural, all straight stitching and no pressing till the end ... yahoo!
Cindy's way of hand piecing is very enjoyable, the stamps make it so simple to stay straight. Imagine - you get to play with ink, stamps, thread and voila - you have a flower. Then on to embroidery. Boy, this is fun! I also bought a bunch of new toys (oops don't tell corporate)!
We stopped in at the local quilt shop - Pappy's Quilting Place. Yes, I had to buy some fabric there too. See ... I'm just as addicted as all you guys! On the way back, the leaves were changing (a sure sign that Fall is fast approaching) and even stopped at a pumpkin patch. Look at the size of that pumpkin!
What a great retreat! Not only did I learn something new, I got to spend it with three good friends: Ruth, Aleck and Nancy. So now I'm rested and ready for October.
Here's just a few things happening in October (be sure to scroll down to the end of this email for a valuable coupon!):
