A Celebration of Unity: an inter-faith service will take place here in La Verne on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church on the corner of Bonita and San Dimas Canyon Road.
And at Saint John's on Sunday:
LET'S BRING FLOWERS TO PLACE AT OUR PEACE POLE in honor of the 911 First Responders and in memory of those who died that day.
The youth and young adults who went on the mission trip to Skid Row this August will be preaching this Sunday.  Our youth representative to the Hands in Healing Youth pilgrimage to the Holy Land will make a special presentation as well.
Sunday School begins a new year this Sunday!  All children preschool through 5th grade will start in church with a children's sermon, then move to Chapel and Story time in the fellowship hall.  The Acolytes (Jr. High) go directly to the Youth room.  The J2A (High School) go directly to the Vicar's Study.  All return for Communion.
Youth Groups resume tonight!  Both Jr. High and High School will meet together at 4:00 p.m.  Jana says, "Bring your water shooting devices and be prepared!  Last one with Alka Selzer tablets still on their necklace wins."  The Vicar will pray you through, but refuses to be a target or a shield . . .
