Readings for Sunda y, February 27
Collect for Sunday
Most loving Creator, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on you who care for us: Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. |

50th Anniversary Weekend
May 21-22, 2011
A grand celebration will take place the weekend of May 21-22, so SAVE THE DATE. Bishop Diane Jardine Bruce will be with us that day as our preacher and celebrant. Which means we will have confirmations that Sunday! Please speak to KGK+ if you are interested in formal membership in the Episcopal Church via the sacrament of Confirmation.
If you have pictures, old bulletins, or other items that can be scanned or digitized for the 50th anniversary video and memory book, please bring them to the office clearly marked with your name and "For 50th Celebration". If it's already in electronic media, even better! Simply email them to
office@stjohnslaverne.org
Scott Miasano will be making a video for the 50th anniversary and would like to do "on camera" interviews with several members of the congregation. Look for sign ups soon. |
