Manager of Programs
and Services


Fontella McKyer joined the  Dress for Success Charlotte team in May as the Manager of Programs and Services.

Fontella will oversee the Professional Women's Group, the career center and all client experiences.

She previously worked at The Lee Institute and the Foundation For The Carolinas.

Congratulations to Cindy Urbanik of Cynthia Urbanik Interiors! Her beautiful work on our boutique is one of 12 finalists in the "Design Is" contest.

The competition held by Shaw Contract Group received over 250 entries. Help Cindy win the People's Choice award by voting online by July 2.

Wachovia Wells Fargo is the title sponsor of Look At Her Power, our 5th annual signature fundraiser, on Sept. 16.

Wachovia Wells Fargo Presents Look At Her Power will be at The Park (formerly the Merchandise Mart) and is a preview of the Southern Women's Show.

Will Be Honorary Chairwoman

The dynamic Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, will be the honorary chairwoman for the 5th annual Look At Her Power celebration.

She is directly responsible for the company's regulatory, legislative and community affairs activities in the state while overseeing AT&T's operations of 8,400 employees.

We will be announcing our keynote speaker soon!

Leadership Of Community Advisors Changes

During a May 13 celebration in the boutique, founding co-chairs Marcia Simon and Joan Zimmerman were honored for their extraordinary work with the board of community advisors.

New co-chairs Debby Alphin and Kelly Chopus were introduced.

In her remarks, Marcia said: "Dress for Success is an opportunity for you to

make a personal commitment to realize life-long goals. You can do it ... with persistence, perseverance and, of course, patience... and if you the challenge, our organization will partner with you all the way."

Joan, who was traveling, shared these thoughts in a note: "As a young person, growing up during World War II in England, in a family of 9 children; my amazing parents drummed into us: 'You are as good as, but no better than, anyone else you meet. Whether they are rich or poor, famous or unknown - they are still people, just like you. Share your time and talents with them.' Life works on the law of the boomerang - whatever you throw out, good or bad, it will come back to you."

THANK YOU:
Carolinas HealthCare System volunteers (above) for organizing inventory. They brought along some great donations.
The visit was part of their "Building Strong and Healthy Communities" outreach campaign... Citi Fort Mill for hosting a Pearls And Purses drive... Deloitte for their Partner Day where they processed and organized inventory.
