Beyond the Boutique Update:
We're On The Move!
 
Last week, Dress for Success Charlotte marked the official signing of the five year lease for our new space at 500-A Clanton Road.  In just a few days, the upfit work will begin and over the next few months, the space will be developed into our new boutique and career transformation center.  We hope to be celebrating the start of the New Year in our new space!

At this point, we're still $30,000 short of meeting our overall target and we need your help!  Beyond the Boutique funds are restricted solely for new costs associated with an adequate space to deliver these much needed services. Now is the time to act!  
 
We have all been impacted by the economy, which means there will be more women needing our services.  Dress for Success Charlotte is now working with more than 30 referral Agency Partners to help low and no-income women successfully transition into the workforce.

By meeting our $150,000 goal we can:
  • facilitate up to 8 simultaneous suitings to accommodate the 600-650 new clients we expect to serve in 2010.
  • expand our hours of operation and accept even more donations of interview appropriate clothing, shoes and accessory donations.
  • consult with clients in a more private and professional environment.
  • maximize our volunteer resources to help deliver more career retention and career advancement programs and services.

Now that's an amazing return on investment for any donation!

Simon Fashion Now™ Brings Free Fashion Shows,
Interactive Event and Retailer Demonstrations to Southpark
 
 
Simon Fashion Now™ presented by Land Rover Charlotte, is a free, high-energy celebration of style at all price ranges, arrives at SouthPark on October 23 and 24. With a focus on fall fashion, Simon Fashion Now brings the drama and appeal of a runway fashion show experience to style-minded yet budget-savvy consumers, as well as showcasing the impressive array of products offered by SouthPark retailers.
 
Simon Fashion Now at SouthParkwill kick off on Friday, Oct. 23 with Trends & Friends Night, an evening of fashion, cocktails and bites, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in SouthPark's Circle Court. The event will feature three runway shows at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Style Stops showcasing the latest fashion trends, all free of charge. 
 
Guests can also enjoy a silent auction to benefit Dress for Success Charlotte.  Shoppers are encouraged to bring new or gently worn accessories for donation to the non-profit organization, which promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
