Magers & Quinn T-Shirts Are Here!
| The literary t-shirts and bags from Out of Print Clothing
have been so popular that we thought we'd design our own:
 | Hazel modelling the new M&Q T-shirt |
The M&Q shirt comes in gray or blue and is 100% combed cotton. It features a picture of the book-browsing dude in silhouette, familiar from our bookmark. It also says "est.1994". It's hard to believe, but we're old enough to vote!

Michelle's pick for Teen Readers: Every Day by David Levithan
|
 | New: $12.74 Pub. price: $16.99 Hardcover |
"Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl. Every morning, A wakes in a different person's body, a different person's life. There's never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere. It's all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin's girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with-day in, day out, day after day.
With his new novel, David Levithan has pushed himself to new creative heights. He has written a captivating story that will fascinate readers as they begin to comprehend the complexities of life and love in A's world, as A and Rhiannon seek to discover if you can truly love someone who is destined to change every day." (from Publisher)
"This book was amazing and hard to put down. It's hard enough being a teen. Imagine being stuck in a different teenager's body every day and living through every possible up and down. You go from being in love to overweight to a junkie to neglected to popular to shy. With each and every body A inhabits, Levithan portrays their voice perfectly. I rooted for him and wanted to take care of him with each page turn. This is THE teen must read for this fall. I highly recommend for fans of John Green." - Michelle

Kids Corner: Fall Pick
This is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen
| $15.99 Release Date October 2, 2012
 | $15.99 Release Date October 2, 2012 |
"Klassen's authorial debut, I WANT MY HAT BACK (2011), became one of the surprise picture-book hits of the year, and while it's tempting to see this follow-up as a sequel, it's really only related in its hat-theft theme, animal characters, deadpan humor, and a suggestively dark conclusion. . . . The simple, dramatic tension and macabre humor that's right at a kid's level of deviousness mesh splendidly with Klassen's knack for tiny, telling details and knockout page turns. Who knew hat thievery was such a bottomless well? -Booklist (starred review)
"I enjoyed I Want My Hat Back and was quite excited when this "sequel" came my way. Equally as fun as the first and as snarky. My four year old approved and after reading it for the third time in one night, I still got a chuckle. Good stuff." -Michelle

Aaron's Pick

 | $15.25 (Pub: $16.99 |
This month you probably won't be able to escape hearing about
The Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling's massive debut novel for adults released on September 27. Publisher Little, Brown has kept the book shrouded in such secrecy that all anyone knows is that it sounds very dull. (forgive me, Dumbledore!) But if you long for genre-busting fantasy novels set in British public schools, on September 27 Penguin is releasing Darkwater, by Catherine Fisher. Author of the Relic-Master series as well as Incarceron and Sapphique, Fisher may not be a houshold name, but with her large body of work, she fills the void left by the conclusion of a certain wizarding series.
See you in October!
