Hello fellow book lovers!

We have two special events coming up we wanted to share with you.  First, on April 19th,  WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen visits the store to discuss his favorite Minnesota sports memories (and maybe help us understand what's happening with the Twins?).  And on Monday, April 23rd, we are hosting a blow-out celebration for the first annual World Book Night, featuring Kate DiCamillo, Leif Enger, and the Star Tribune's book page editor Laurie Hertzel.  More information is below; and we hope to see you soon!

Yours with a swelled, bookish heart,

April 19th @ 7:30pm / Mark Rosen

Please join us as we welcome WCCO's Mark Rosen for an evening of sports talk and a discussion of the Twins past and future to help celebrate the opening of the 2012 baseball season.

For more than forty years, Mark Rosen has been at the forefront of sports media in the Twin Cities, the region, and the state-a true icon of the Minnesota sports scene. In Best Seat in the House, Rosen shares stories and anecdotes that give the reader an inside look into the world of sports, broadcast media, and even politics, from the perspective of a legend in his field.

In Best Seat in the House, Rosen shares his first-person accounts of working with some of the biggest sports figures and athletes that have been a part of Minnesota sports, including Bud Grant, Harmon Killebrew, Kirby Puckett, Dave Winfield, Joe Mauer, and more, this is an evening not to be missed.

April 23 @ 7:30pm, come celebrate:
WORLD BOOK NIGHT

Join us as we celebrate WORLD BOOK NIGHT with special guests Kate DiCamillo, Leif Enger, and Laurie Hertzel

We are proud to be a part of the first annual World Book Night as a pick-up location for registered participants, and to celebrate this amazing world-wide literary event. There will be prizes, giveaways, refreshments and readings by two of the country's best writers for all ages, Kate DiCamillo and Leif Enger. Laurie Hertzel, memoirist and book review editor of the Star Tribune will lead the discussion on what promises to be a memorable and celebratory evening. All are welcome to join!

World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books and will be held in the U.S. as well as the U.K. and Ireland on April 23, 2012. It will see tens of thousands of people go out into their communities to spread the joy and love of reading by giving out free World Book Night paperbacks. April 23 is UNESCO's World Book Day, chosen due to the anniversary of Cervantes' death, as well as Shakespeare's birth and death.
