We know it's a busy time, but we wanted to pass on
some good news to mark the end of a long year.
Thanks to you and all of our cohorts across the
country, three very damaging land privatization bills
failed to pass at the end of the 109th Congress, and
as a result more than 100,000 acres of your
public
land
have been kept in public hands!
In central and southwestern Idaho and
southwest Utah, federal lands were slated to be
given away or sold off in exchange for wilderness
designation elsewhere, but controversy dragged at
the proposals and they fell to defeat.
Now, a new Congress means a new opportunity to
rededicate ourselves to protecting all
public lands. In
the meantime, please take a moment to savor this
hard-won victory.
We look forward to working with you in the new
year!
