Your help is needed immediately to send a message to Senators Lincoln and Pryor asking them to reject language in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, otherwise known as the Jobs Bill. Language in this legislation specifically excludes zoos and aquariums from receiving these important federal funds that could save jobs at the Little Rock Zoo and create new ones!!! The Little Rock Zoo was recently forced to lay-off workers and funds from this bill could help save these jobs and even create new ones!
The Little Rock Zoo is an important part of our community that promotes education and wildlife conservation. The Zoo is important to the families of Arkansas and should have the opportunity to receive job-creating funds from the federal government just like any other museum, arts center, or other educational attraction in Arkansas.
