Hello, Everyone!
What a month we've had. August was full of trainings and consultations, and an 11-day trip to Port Huron, Michigan, to once again work with the wonderful staff at Landmark Academy. We came back just in time to pack up our offices and move to a fabulous, new location!
We are now in our new offices at 353 Sanjon Road in Ventura. Dealing with our new street name has been an adventure in itself...it seems that the city spells it "Sanjon" on all the street signs and the post office spells it "San Jon." So, you might see both spellings of it until we figure out which one to use! Meanwhile, we are still waiting for internet and phone service because this dual spelling apparently caused a glitch in identifying our building and whether we could get a DSL line here. It's been an interesting adventure living without technology during the day, doing emails early in the morning or late evening from home, and calling our voicemail to return calls with our cell phones. We thank everyone who has tried to reach us for your patience during these last two weeks.
We love our new place and are excited about the opportunities it will provide. We are offering new opportunities for you, too, by scheduling LearningSuccess Coach Trainings in your area. All you have to do is ask!

 New Opportunities for Students, Parents, & Teachers
It's the beginning of a new school year and with it come new opportunities!
Learning always brings new opportunities. The question is: Are we offering students opportunities for failure or for success?
Lately, we've been asking it this way: Would you force a child to wear shoes that don't fit? Then why force an education that doesn't fit? An education that doesn't fit leads to failure.
We are calling on parents and teachers to be Learning Success Coaches for every child. Find out how each child learns, make learning relevant and enjoyable, make teaching engaging.
Knowing your students' learning styles takes the pressure off of everyone. Why not find out as much as you can about how students learn and give them what they need to succeed! Whether it be hands-on activities, audio books, visual materials, or allowing them to doodle or work on the floor...remember, we are all different and there is not one way that is the "better" or "right" way.

New Business Opportunities as a LearningSuccess Coach...
Did you know that you can become a LearningSuccess Coach certified for private practice?
This means that you could consult with individual families whose children attend either traditional schools or homeschooling programs. You would provide LearningSuccess Profiles, and consultations to explain the results and offer recommendations for learning strategies and/or curriculum.
Private practice certification is obtained through our Level 3 training - a one-year internship program. Our next Level 3 program will begin in January 2010. If you are interested, please contact us right away, so that we can answer all of your questions.
You do not have to already be a therapist, counselor, or teacher to join this program. If you are a therapist, counselor, or teacher, of course we welcome you, too! LearningSuccess Private Practice Coach is a great certification to add to your repertoire.
Pre-requisites for Level 3 are Levels 1 and 2. If you have not yet taken these classes see the schedule below. There is time for you to take Level 1 and 2 and be ready for Level 3 in January!

The James Kindel  Scholarship Fund
We are grateful to Lupe Hernandez Kindel for establishing a scholarship fund at the LearningSuccess Institute in the name of her deceased husband James Kindel.
Mr. Kindel worked as an attorney in Los Angeles where he was well-known for his support of the arts and community events. He was an avid learner himself and during his lifetime actively encouraged and contributed to learning opportunities for others.
The James Kindel Scholarship Fund has been used to defray costs for participants in our Level 1 LearningSuccess Coach Training Program and our LearningSuccess Homeschool Program.

 The LearningSuccess Homeschool Program
The LearningSuccess Institute is registered as a private school in California. We offer a full elementary through high school program, and students receive a high school diploma. What is so great about our program? Lot of things!
- Each student's program is completely customized to take full advantage of that child's learning style
