Headwaters!
As Headwaters heads into spring there are an incredible number of opportunities for you to connect with our work, not the least of which is the best party of the year--the Allies for Justice Awards Celebration! But before we go there, I am pleased to announce that  Chris Stewart has joined the staff of Headwaters as the new Director of the African American Leadership Forum. Chris is currently co-chair of the AALF Education Workgroup and is a former member of the Minneapolis Public School Board. A big welcome to Chris as he begins work on April 23!
Allies for Justice Awards Celebration! I hope you will join us the evening of May 16 to celebrate the contributions of Ruth & David Waterbury, the Mainstreet Project and OutFront MN! A reminder that tomorrow is the last day to save 20% on individual tickets at the early-bird discounted rate.
Social Change Fund Site Visits are taking place now through the end of April. Headwaters donors who are interested in learning more about the work you support are invited to attend. Space is available on a first-come basis. To sign up contact Monica Bryand.
Help us meet our goals for the June 30, fiscal year! Through March 31, we had raised a total of $1,054,981 toward our budget of $1,241,345. This leaves a balance of $186,364 to raise by June 30, 2012. The next three months are critical to helping us meet our grantmaking goals for the community. With your help we can do it. Please show your support for social justice by making your gift today. Thank you to everyone who has renewed their committments this year and a special welcome to over 100 new donors who have come on board!
We are now recruiting for the Fall 2013 Social Justice Leadership Institute - Interested in leading the next generation of Social Justice Philanthropy in MN? Take part in the Social Justice Leadership Institute this fall. Potential applicants are encouraged to register for one of two information sessions being held June 19 and June 28. Joint Convening of Headwaters Grantees and Donors - Put June 14 on your calendars and join us for a conversation with the 2012 grantees of the Headwaters Foundation for Justice. We will meet together from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a short donor education seminar drawing from the successful Money & Values series of a few years back (ending by 7:30). Stay tuned for details.
