What's Happening at Headwaters!
As we turn the page on a new year, we would like to first look back and thank all who contributed to our year-end fund drive! We raised an amazing $138,000 in the first half of our fiscal year. Though we fell short of our goal, in the coming months we will be working hard and we will need your help to make sure the organizations we support have the resources they need to do their work.
Headwaters would like to extend a special congratulations to the Central Corridor "Stops for Us" Coalition, a group including several Headwaters grantees, which recently won a National Achievements in Environmental Justice Award from the Environmental Protection Agency! The announcement was made at the first- ever White House Environmental Justice Forum by EPA administrator Lisa P. Jackson. Headwaters is proud of all our grantees and we know with your help 2011 will bring more tremendous success stories.
Also, remember to save the date--our annual Allies for Justice Celebration will be held on May 18th at the Nicollet Island Pavilion. We hope to see you there! In the meantime, read on for some interesting stories and three exciting events coming up in the next few weeks!

Donor Spotlight:
Alondra Espejel
"I'm moved by Headwaters' ability to understand that big change doesn't happen by throwing money at huge organizations that have all of the bells and whistles - they know that real change comes out of funding the organizing power of the people."
