Creativity & Innovation Lead The Way

After two days of building marshmallow skyscrapers, coming up with school slogans, and sharing best practices like Edmodo, FLIP, and Instructional Networking, Los Al teachers were champing at the bit to get in front of students last Wednesday.

Welcome To Los Al:
New Teachers Find Mentors Aplenty

Brand new English teacher Kelly Jones (right) has been getting support from everywhere!  In this pic, it's Lori Franzen offering her words of encouragement & support, but Kelly says she's been feeling the Los Al love from everyone: "Bart Smith was in my room earlier, and Phil Doran's been giving me great advice! The whole department's really fantastic..."

So, whether you're brand new to the campus, or have been for a year or two (or 10, or 20, or 30 even...), linking up with a colleague is a great way to build a collegial support system and facilitate professional growth...

 A Proud Freshman!!!

"Daily Agendas..." What's With The Blue Tape?

It seems to be a growing trend to use blue painter's tape to organize Daily Agendas on the Whiteboard for students.

There's tons of ways to go about this, of course... and if you're looking for some inspiration, head over to Ms. Post in Room 802 where this photo was taken :)
Ms. Moore's Students "heart" Los Al From The     Get-Go!!!

Here's a cool opening day activity...

In line with being creative & innovative with her beginning-of-the-year icebreaker, Ms. Moore asked her students: "What do you heart about Los Al?"

The kids gave tons of great answers... everything from "I heart assemblies" to "I heart Eisenberg!"

Way to go Ms. Moore :)
