Sustainability Report Released | |
Why is this important? Residents, stakeholders, and technical experts provided us with input about the types of things that are important when it comes to a healthy and sustainable Pickering community. We grouped these 55 indicators into 5 sections: Environment, Economy, Society, Development, and Consumption.
This information gives us an excellent baseline to measure progress over time. The report also provides great insight into what's being done and what you can do to help. Check out the attractive, user-friendly web-based version at measuringsustainability.ca. |

It's harvest time; as you reap the benefits of your hard work, consider donating some of your garden's vegetables and fruits to those less fortunate. Grow a Row Durham will collect and distribute the produce through Feed the Need Durham to local food banks and soup kitchens across Durham Region. Sign up and donate. Next year, consider planting an extra row of produce for the Grow a Row program; you'll be helping many families in our community. |
