VRAP Helps Pre-9/11 Vets with Education Benefit |
Some veterans who are ineligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill now have access to a new educational benefit designed to directly address veteran unemployment: Veteran Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP). Just last week, the website associated with this program began accepting applications.
Through VRAP, pre-9/11 veterans who are unemployed and 35-60 years old may qualify for 12 months of education and retraining assistance.
The VOW website and accompanying fact sheet provide veterans with full information on VRAP eligibility, as well as on other VOW to Hire Heroes provisions such as tax credits for employers, vocational rehabilitation services, transition assistance program, and U.S. Department of Labor resources. |
