Greetings!

We hope you had an enjoyable holiday break with family and friends!
Reflecting on 2011 as an organization, Friends of Mabry Park met all
its key goals.

Attendance at our events in 2011 was exceptionally good! On multiple occasions, you amazed and energized us with your enthusiasm and support for this badly needed park in NE Cobb.

We have now time set goals for 2012!
  • Secure funding to build a road to the park.
  • A Mabry Park car magnet on every family vehicle in NE Cobb County
  • 1000 Fans on our Facebook page:
Of course, we will continue to keep you informed of our mission's progress through these newsletters, our website and social media!

We can't wait to meet many more NE Cobb residents in this year's community events!

As we begin this new year, we are sorry to announce that Mark Jernigan has stepped down as President of the Executive Board. Lee Berg, Vice President since the board was first formed, has agreed to take over as President.

Janice Jernigan, Mark's wife has also stepped down from her position on the Executive Board as Communications Director. After 3 years on the board, Mark and Janice will be focusing their energy on other interesting ventures.

The Jernigans will always be at the heart of the Friends of Mabry Park. It was Mark who first took the initiative to start our organization and in addition to her hard work on communications, Janice coined our tagline, "Imagine a place..."

They and their significant efforts will be sorely missed! Please join the new board in offering your heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all of their time and service, creating the awareness and force behind this park initiative for NE Cobb County residents.
