Summer Highlights

Remember when you were in school and you had to do summer reading? You inevitably waited until the last couple of weeks of vacation before you started. Then, because you didn't finish everything, you had to ask siblings or friends to fill you in on the highlights or look the plot up on the Internet. Or was this just me? Anyway, consider this your Luce Center Highlights email, where I'll fill you in on my top three favorite things that have happened over the summer. In no particular order:

Mary investigated (and photographed) the mysteries surrounding a guitar in our folk art collection. Check out her blog post and awesome photos.

Our Art-o-mat machine was featured in a CNN.com article about the coolest (our word) vending machines. We can't take all of the credit, of course - props to the artists who create these pocket-sized pieces and the project organizers

We're updating our cases! A few objects have left to go out on loan or be exhibited in the galleries, so while we hate to say goodbye to old friends, we're happy to welcome new ones into the Center. You can check out our Facebook page where we'll post details of the project.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and good luck with the summer reading, for those of you who have it.
