Smithsonian American Art Museum
Did you know the museum's Luce Foundation Center is DC's first state-of-the-art visible storage and study center of its kind? Did you also know that more than 3,300 works from the permanent collection are stored in 64 gleaming glass cases in the 20,400-square-foot space? The soaring skylights and ornate nineteenth-century decor are almost afterthoughts once you enter and start to explore the art. Although there is plenty to do in the center on any given day, my amazing team of colleagues in the Luce Center also plan really engaging programs for you to enjoy. Take a look at what's on tap this summer and come spend an hour (or four) with us.
