Multiplicity
The official opening date for our Multiplicity exhibition is actually November 11, but we finished installing the works a little early and decided to open the doors! The exhibition features 83 prints from our permanent collection, including works by exciting contemporary artists such as Chuck Close, Julie Mehretu, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., and John Cage. If you cannot make it to see the show in person, we took some photographs of the installation.  See the full set on Flickr. You can browse all the prints included in the exhibition from home through an online slideshow. In addition to the 83 artworks on view in the galleries, the slideshow includes images of the complete sets of prints in our collection by R. Luke DuBois, Martin Puryear, and Kara Walker. Multiplicity will be on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum until March 11, 2012. |

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from some great local artists in a panel discussion with senior curator Joann Moser. Linn Meyers, Michael Platt, Lou Stovall, and Andrea Way, all of whom are featured in Multiplicity, will talk about their printmaking techniques and the D.C. art scene.
