Pardon our cheesy subject line, but doesn't fall make you feel crafty? Not fake-leaves-and-silly-string-crafty, but crafty in the sense we start to think about making holiday gifts for loved ones or whiling away long afternoons indoors while the wind whips the trees outside into their wintry bareness? Well, it sure makes us want to get out our stockpile of tchotchkes and our glue gun! But because crafting does not have to mean spending time in the solitary confinement of your laundry room-turned art studio, we want to remind you about Handi-hour on Thursday, November 3 from 5:30 - 7:30pm at the Renwick Gallery. Handi-hour combines happy hour with handmade, offering you the chance to fashion your own masterpieces in an actual craft gallery while sipping craft beer and listening to live music. We're so into this combination of social crafting and suds that Katie Crooks, one of our public programs coordinators, has put together some beer and art pairings for you to enjoy next week. Here's a sneak peek:

The Corruption
DC Brau | American IPA | DC | 6.5%
American IPA hopped exclusively with Pacific Northwest Columbus (a.k.a. Tomahawk) hops. This beer is very bold and hoppy.
Pairs nicely with Meditation by William de Leftwich Dodge. While this beer corrupts your palate in the best of ways, you can almost feel the debate brewing in the mind of this Roman youth. Will he succumb to corruption?
Soooo, whether you're drooling over the hops or the toga-clad hottie above, if you come to Handi-hour you can wet your whistle with this and two other brews from our local beer-lovers' mecca, Birch & Barley/Churchkey, while having a crafty good time. Details are below. Hope to see you next week! |
