Fall Traveling Exhibitions

Ocean Park, No. 6 We have many exhibitions on the road right now, and four just opened at new venues. If you'll be in North Carolina this fall, you should be sure to check out the last stop on the tour for Modern Masters from the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This show has been to six venues since it left our museum three years ago, and it will be at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art in Winston-Salem, NC, until New Year's Eve. If you can't make it to North Carolina, check out the great behind-the-scenes video that the Reynolda House created that shows staff members unpacking and installing the exhibition.

Will you be in Alabama over the next few months? Then don't miss 1934: A New Deal for Artists which will be at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Montgomery, AL, until January 15, 2012. This exhibition presents a snapshot of America during the Great Depression through artworks created as part of the Public Works of Art Project. Traveling since early 2010, this exhibition is only halfway through its extensive 13-venue tour. Be sure to check our website to see if it will be visiting a museum near you!

See below for a full list of traveling exhibitions that are open now!
