Involved In a

Catastrophic Accident

On January 29, 2009, Mr. Mario Cesar Vieira, a 39 year old Brazilian laborer, was working on framing of a new residential home he purchased in New York.
 

A terrible accident occurred when he lost his balance and fell from a ladder while handing a piece of plywood to a co-worker. The injuries were catastrophic as Mr. Vieira was rendered paraplegic as a result of the accident.

On June 21, 2011 over 100 active and retired Correction Officers turned out at Riccardo's Catering Hall for a Real Estate Seminar hosted by Koehler & Isaacs LLP. The Basics of Line of Duty Job Injuries: Understanding NY General Municipal Law Section 207-c - Part III

In Part I of this multi-part series we explained, generally, that New York General Municipal Law Section 207-c provides the payment of full regular salary or wages and for medical treatment to specific groups of law enforcement and municipal employees who are injured or who are taken ill as a result of the performance of their duties.  We also explained that applicants for this benefit must show that there is a direct causal relationship between their job duties and the resulting illness or injury.
