You're Not Invited To Frye's 'After Club'
By: Austin Frye
| | I have this large growing pile of nearly completed client work sitting on a table in my office. In this pile are items such as unsigned agreements, trust documents, completed financial plans never presented, and investment account reviews never shared.
I have tried contacting the involved clients numerous times to complete the unfinished tasks, but my contact notes invariably read something to this effect: after the holiday, after my busy season, after my vacation, after tax season, after the summer, after the year ends, after I'm feeling better, after my family goes back to where they belong, after my divorce is completed, after I take the kids to college, after blah, blah, blah. You get my point!

"Unmarried Couple" Planning
According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, there is such a growing need for financial/living arrangement/ownership/
protective planning for unmarried couples that financial planners can barely keep up with the demand.
Successful individuals entering into unmarried, committed relationships, especially those involving shared living arrangements, are working with their partners on the establishment of financial ground rules, and contractual agreements to avoid stressful misunderstandings and to protect their and their families' interests. Additionally, since unmarried couples can not take for granted many of the rights and guarantees that are afforded by legal marriages, they are proactively planning to protect each other in case of serious illness or death. Asset titling, trusts, wills, health care designations, beneficiary designations, insurance policies etc., are among the planning vehicles being employed in such cases. Although initially uncomfortable, getting such planning completed can clear the way for smoother sailing going forward and help avoid ongoing conflict stemming from unresolved financial sticking points.

Attention Baby Boomers :
Don't Count On That Bailout From Mom & Dad
| | The combined realities of increasing life expectancy, low interest rates, depressed real estate values, rising costs for health and long-term care, etc., are forcing baby boomers to accept an unwelcome new reality.
The huge amount of inheritance dollars they had been projected to receive is rapidly diminishing before their very eyes. In fact, many grown boomer siblings may now be dealing with the advent of subsidizing parents who may be running out of funds.
Although a formidable task and one that some may look forward to as much as a visit to an oral surgeon, a multi-generational/sibling meeting to review the "state of the estate" and to develop an action plan may be the only way to approach this new challenge.

Mango-Obsessed At Frye Financial
|
| |
As many locals know, there are a multitude of mango varieties, or cultivars, grown right here in South Florida. The luscious, ripe, golden/pinkish fruits, native to India, can be seen hanging from trees and enhancing backyards throughout the area every year at this time. For those paying close attention, each variety of mango has a distinct shape, texture, color, flavor, etc.
Here at Frye Financial, we are enjoying a bumper crop from our 3 different tree types this season. We welcome all of our readers to stop by for a comparative tasting of our highly delectable offerings.
GO HEAT!!
Wishing YOUR... MIAMI HEAT, the new Eastern Conference 2011-2012 Champions, best of luck in the finals!!!
