The summer of 2012 is about to be in the last stages, before we head into the fall, school starts, leaves turn and hopefully the weather gets better for all those people living through the scorching heat last month. But before that, I'll be out at the beach in Montauk, NY for a great show with only about 90 artists in the center of the town green. What a way to finish off the summer, before heading out to the Midwest AGAIN, just north of Chicago, to a wonderful suburb on Lake Michigan in Highland Park. The fun begins after the show, when I drive out to California for my fourth year in a row in Sausalito. Highway 90 through South Dakota, and an overnight in the Badlands.. No complaints there, can't wait! A three day labor day show, my most anticipated of the year, a great venue across from San Francisco, great art, good music, a treat in itself to make the roadtrip.. but alas, I have only three days to get back to the Midwest, to St. Louis, one of the highest rated and toughest festivals for an artist to jury into.. I won first place in Photography last year, and look forward to seeing some of the customers I met last year!

Mist trail2

The Mist Trail - Niagara Falls

A popular spot for getting wowed or soaked amid natural splendor, Niagara Falls attracts curious spectators and adventurous honeymooners from around the world. The splendid main attraction - more than six million cubic feet of water cascading over a rocky crest - sits partially in the United States and partially in Canada. (I understand the Canadian side is a better bet.)  I ended up here by accident almost, as I was coming back from a show in Madison, WI a month ago, and had to go through Buffalo to make a pickup. Why not I thought, at the last minute, I was about 10 miles away from Niagara Falls, and had never been there. A great sight for sure, but the town is in desperate times, and the tourism industry is abundantly clear to have taken over, with all the trimmings that go with it!
Go, but I wouldn't stay there.
