Friends and Customers:

This month we are going to focus on grease, new products, applications and change intervals. With summer  upon us  many of you may find yourself switching over from  your winter grade #1 grease to a heavier #2 grease.  Do not be alarmed as long as you keep in mind that as long as it's the same grease or a compatible grease, the combining of these 2 NLGI grades is fine.  In time, the #1 grade will work itself out of your system and the # 2 will replace it.  Chevron has also come out with a new, extended service interval Delo grease that is due to be released sometime in the last part of the 2nd quarter. We will keep you in the loop as far as availability and pricing.

From Our Winning Team to Yours

By Steve Boyd

 Steve Boyd

It's hard to believe we are nearly half way through 2011.  The world seems to be turning at an ever increasing speed-not that 1,000 miles per hour is anything to sneeze at.  We hope your operations are on track to have a very successful year.  June begins a period for summer vacations. Our school age children are so excited about getting out of the classroom for a few months and moving up a grade.  Their enthusiasm and joy for life is really contagious.  Unfortunately, somewhere along the way in their later years many of them lose this passion, as they deal with life.  This is so unfortunate considering their youthful zest and belief that anything is possible.  Wouldn't it be nice if we would all commit to maintaining this positive approach with our neighbors, strangers we meet, our customers, and everyone we work with day in and day out?   The world would be a much better place.

At Sun Coast our goal is to make your experience dealing with us the best it can be.  We have a sensational Customer Care department, staffed with well trained, passionate, and caring people, who will resolve customer inquiries, issues or requests for information quickly, professionally, and with a smile. Our continued growth and success is based on doing it right the first time.  If we fall short, we pledge to make it right-right now.  We have added over 150 new employees to our ranks over the past few months to serve you better.  We have also expanded our delivery fleet and made a couple of acquisitions to broaden our capabilities.  With nine offices in strategic demand centers throughout Texas, and operations in over twenty-five states, Sun Coast offers the highest quality fuels, lubricants, and a whole host of related services including disaster response, fluid filtering and purification, used oil pick-up, generator fueling and maintenance, fuel and crude condensate hauling, and unique pricing programs all supported by over 700 team members who will never take your business for granted.

Please be safe during this summer season and let's all be thankful we live in America, where any dream can become a reality.

Warmest regards, Steve Boyd, Sr. Managing Director

Lubricant Tip of the Month:

 High Temperature Lubrication

"Greases fail more rapidly as the operating temperature increases. The reason for failure lies in the melting point of the thickener or dropping point of the grease. The latter involves a complex of melting and bleed. Evaporation may be significant at high temperatures. Oxidation also increases rapidly as temperature rises. There are useful guidelines for heat resistance of greases in service which take all these factors into consideration."
