From Our Winning Team to Yours
January 2011 is in the history books and it seems like it passed in the blink of an eye. As a matter of fact, where in the world did 2010 go? Maybe it's me, but it seems the world is spinning at an ever increasing rate of speed as time goes on. I guess I'm showing my age, but with information and communication streaking through cyber-space, coupled with our faster than a speeding bullet computers, times are changing for sure. Whatever happened to the good old reading, writing and arithmetic education of yesteryear? It has been replaced by rapid and complex technological advancements our children master very quickly. If you don't believe it, challenge any child to a Wii video game or something else involving good insight into computer sports challenges. My son no longer gets a kick out of shutting me out on Madden NFL Football.
What I'm leading up to is the need for all of us and our companies to stay abreast of the latest technological tools at our disposal to improve customer service and internal processes and productivity. We at Sun Coast recently implemented SAP to do just that, and we are finalizing the installation of computer systems in our fleet. With nearly 250 state of the art delivery vehicles to serve our very large and growing customer base, we felt it necessary to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our back office systems as well. With about 500 employees to serve our clients we want to insure our total customer service offering is best in class.
Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers, winners of Super Bowl XLV-why we still use Roman numerals rather than the number 45 has always intrigued me. In any event, it just goes to show you what hard work, great coaching, fabulous teamwork, perseverance and luck can achieve. As we face the remainder of 2011, let's pledge to work together with our teammates, provide unparalled customer focus and maintain a sense of humor when it sometimes seems many throughout the world have lost theirs. Thank-you for your friendship and trust. Let's make 2011 the best year ever.
Warmest regards,
Steve Boyd, Sr. Managing Director
