Greetings!

Associates in Forensic Investigations, LLC, is excited to thank all of our family, friends, colleagues and clients for a wonderful 25 years!

Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI, formed his agency on October 1st 1987.  At that time he specialized in general civil and criminal investigations, and emphasized individual locates, backgrounds and assets & liabilities.  These specialties, still practiced today, found him to be one of the most sought investigators, speakers and trainers.

In 1996 his wife, Karen S. Beers, BSW, CCDI, joined the agency and added her education, training and experience in social work environments to add a personal touch and emphasis to their clients.

In 2002 Dean began training at a county coroner / medical examiner office as a death investigation and forensic autopsy assistant.  In 2004 karen also began the same training program.  In 2005 Dean completed the law enforcement training academy and was transitioned from part-time to full-time employment.  Also in 2005 Karen worked part-time at the medical examiner's office.

In 2008 Dean  and Karen returned exclusively to the private sector, emphasizing death investigation and injury causation, becoming a unique team of legal investigators and subject matter experts in death investigation and injury causation.

Dean is a Certified Legal Investigator, as awarded by the National Association of Legal Investigators.  Dean and Karen are both Certified Criminal Defense Investigators, as awarded by the Council of Defense Investigation Training Council.  They are members of several national, state and specialty associations.  Dean is also on the board, committee or faculty of several.

In reflecting on the past 25 years, they share this, "It has been a long and often trying journey that has been rewarded with many friends.  We are very excited to have reached such a significant anniversary in our profession.  We will continue to work with our colleagues an clients, and be ambassadors of this profession."

The Quint-Essential Qualities of a Professional Investigator...
Skills Appropriate for the Assignment
Law firms and medical offices specialize - Professional Investigators also specialize.  Their casework and continuing education should also be in your specialized areas.

Experience and Knowledge
Professional Investigators strive to maintain and further these. All professions have requirements of continuing education.  The CLI program requires extensive compliance with continuing education.

Responsible and Ethical Conduct
Every component of the investigation has evidentiary considerations. Professional Investigators hold themselves to a higher standard and leaves no question as to the admissibility of their evidence.  Information without ethics is not evidence.

Effective Communication
Professional Investigators maintain communication with the attorney, client, witnesses, and other key persons in the investigation.  Moreover, reports are the product of an organized investigation and should reflect the work product you expect.

Keyword - 'Professional'
Honesty, Integrity & Intelligence.  These define Professional Investigators and gives you the confidence that your case is in competent and skilled hands.
