Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI, joins Boulder County Deputy Coroner Maury Miller as primary instructors for the 2011 annual Wyoming Coroners Association training conference.
We are pleased to acknowledge that Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI was again invited to teach death investigation principles to the Wyoming Coroners Association's annual continuing education conference. This is Dean's second year and this year he was joined by colleague and veteran death investigator, Maury Miller, now at the Boulder County (CO) Coroner's Office, as primary instructors.
Wyoming coroners and deputy coroners are required to attend at least 20 hours of annual continuing education that is certified by the Wyoming Coroner Peace Officer Standards Training.
Dean and Maury 12 hours of instruction on Principles of Death Investigation (a very condensed version of AFI-LLC's two day seminar), Aircraft Fatalities, Shaken Baby and Infant Death Investigations, Motor Vehicle Collisions, and Alcohol & Drug Related Deaths, with case scenarios and a final case review of 'Woodchipper Fatality Investigation and Identification'.
Paul Zamora, Carbon County Coroner, was an excellent host and put on an excellent training conference for his colleagues, also attended by law enforcement, fire and ambulance first responders, county commissioners and attorneys, and related professionals. Paul has taken death investigation in Wyoming to a whole new level. The compliment of the week was from a 23-year law enforcement and death investigation veteran:
"I will take you guys any where to any investigation any time - thanks"!
