Dean A. Beers, CLI, owner and founder of Forensic Investigators of Colorado, LLC, has been a legal investigator since October of 1987. Last year he was nominated and elected to the position of VP of Membership for the PPIAC. His performance earned him the nomination to Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The Chairman of the Board, as Chief Executive Officer of the Association, presides over all Board of Director meetings, the Annual Meeting, and is the liaison to the industry, media and the public.
Dean has expressed that he looks forward to his leadership role on the board. "The PPIAC maintains a strong and respected presence, both in the state and nationally, in representing the profession and investigators in Colorado. In accepting the position, my two-year term as VP of Membership was cut short, but I am glad to hand those duties over in order to lead the current board through some very important moments of PPIAC history. Presently is our push for professional licensing in Colorado. A proposed bill is being drafted and will be presented to a sponsor in the next session."

The PPIAC, founded in 1978, was formed to improve the credibility of private investigators, and to provide guidelines for a licensing statute in the State of Colorado. Our continuing efforts to strive for licensure remain undaunted. The mission of the PPIAC is to perform our duties within the scope of the law... to conduct ourselves and our businesses responsibly and ethically... to protect the confidentiality of our clients... and to maintain and enhance the skills and talents upon which our clients depend.
The PPIAC provides access to a continuing program of education, contact with skilled and professional investigators willing to help newcomers, and a critical forum for exchanging opinions and ideas for the betterment of our profession. The PPIAC focuses on continuous education while providing framework for ethical conduct. The public knows that it can rely on the members of this organization - members have passed a thorough background check, and firmly believe in a high standard of conduct.
The PPIAC fosters professionalism in its members. By keeping the private investigative community apprised of legislative changes (as well as forthcoming modifications that may affect the field as a whole), investigators remain up-to-date with the governing statutes.
