Gene Ferraro, CPP, CFE, PCI, is the founder and CEO of Business Controls, Inc. (www.businesscontrols.com) and current President of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services. Mr. Beers and Mr. Ferraro are also both senior members of the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado (www.PPIAC.org); Mr. Beers is the current VP of Membership and Mr. Ferraro is also a past board member. Mr. Ferraro has appointed Dean A. Beers, CLI as national Chairman of Membership for NCISS.
NCISS was founded 35 years ago, 1975, and is a cooperative effort of those companies and
associations responsible for providing private security and
investigation services to the legal profession, business community, government and
the public. Each day NCISS finds an increasing number of problems
confronting the orderly growth of the investigative and security professions. These problems
include, among others: overly restrictive legislation regarding
training and standards, proliferation of legislation requiring
local licensing, public misunderstanding and misinformation on
the role and contribution of private investigators and security
services, and an uninformed media. It is the role of NCISS to
meet and solve these problems while seeking to uncover and
recommend action on any hidden potential problems which may have
an effect on our profession.
Mr. Beers will assist with the development of membership recruitment programs, and coordinate these programs between the NCISS regional directors and executive management team. NCISS currently has a membership of over 1200 investigative and security professionals, and 42 member state industry associations.
Mr. Beers
is dedicated to the professionalism of the private investigative industry. He is one of 76 active Certified Legal
Investigators worldwide, of four in Colorado and the only CLI in northern
Colorado. His training and experience in
death investigation are essential to his work involving injury causation,
personal injuries and death investigations in civil and criminal litigation. In addition, he is the VP of Membership for
the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado; Membership Chair for the National Council of Investigation and
Security Services, and will be a regular contributing columnist to 'The Legal
Investigator' for the National Association of Legal Investigators - 'Forensic
Focus'. He holds memberships in the
World Association of Detectives, National Association of Medical Examiners,
International Association for Identification, Mensa, and other professional
organizations.
