Dear ,

Greetings Brethren,

It is truly great to be home!  Our January Regular was held in the fully renovated Blue Room in the fully renovated Jackson Coolidge Masonic Temple.  Our return was everything we hoped it would be.   The new carpet in the Blue Room was a sight to behold and comfortable underfoot. The Banquet Hall tiles shine like a mirror.  Thanks to all of the Brothers who contributed their time to the monumental task of putting things back in place.  Worshipful Brother George Otis did a grand job of leading the team during this three month project.
The Entered Apprentice degree team held a practice for the upcoming degree, and if the practice was any indication, the degrees will be well done and impressive to the seven candidates and brothers alike.
The February Regular Communication will begin with a Chili and Soup dinner at 6:30 pm.  A special cake commemorating the anniversary of Brother George Washington's Birthday will be the dessert.

Brother George Washington was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason at age 21 and until his death 46 years later exemplified Masonic principles. "Such was Washington's character, that from almost the day he took his Masonic obligations until his death, he became the same man in private that he was in public. In Masonic terms, he remained "a just and upright Mason" and became a true Master Mason. Washington was, in Masonic terms, a living stone who became the cornerstone of American civilization. He remains the milestone others civilizations follow into liberty and equality. He is Freemasonry's perfect ashlar upon which countless Master Masons gauge their labors in their own Lodges and in their own communities."

Our Entered Apprentice degree schedule, along with our Regular Communication, provides the perfect opportunity for brothers who haven't seen the renovations to come and see for themselves.  Mark your calendars for 1, 2, 3, or 4 Thursdays in February.
I am looking forward to greeting each of you in Lodge.

Fraternally,

Frank W. Lutze

Worshipful Master

I am Freemasonry
by Ray V. Denslow

I was born in antiquity, in the ancient days when men first dreamed of God.

I have been tried through the ages, and found true.

The crossroads of the world bear the imprint of my feet, and the cathedrals of all nations mark the skill of my hands.

I strive for beauty and for symmetry.

In my heart is wisdom and strength and courage for those who ask.

Upon my altars is the Book of Holy Writ, and my prayers are to the One Omnipotent God.

My sons work and pray together, without rank or discord, in the public mart and in the inner chamber.

By signs and symbols I teach the lessons of life and of death

and the relationship of man with God and of man with man.

My arms are widespread to receive those of lawful age and good report who seek me of their own free will.

I accept them and teach them to use my tools in the building of men, and thereafter, find direction in their own quest for perfection so much desired and so difficult to attain.

I lift up the fallen and shelter the sick.

I hark to the orphan's cry, the widow's tears, the pain of the old and destitute.

I am not church, nor party, nor school, yet my sons bear a full share of responsibility to God, to country, to neighbor and themselves.

They are freemen, tenacious of their liberties and alert to lurking danger.

At the end I commit them as each one undertakes the journey beyond the vale into the glory of everlasting life.

I ponder the sand within the glass and think how small is a single life in the eternal universe.

Always have I taught immortality, and even as I raise men from darkness into light, I am a way of life.

I am Freemasonry.

We have just completed a massive project at our Masonic Center in Michigan Center. We had to do the following:

  • Clean the entire building and replace the furnaces. Install new  rooftop heating and air conditioning units with new air ducts.
  • Throw away a lot of items that are of little use to us anymore.
  •  New Hanging Sign out front and in the very near future a new Masonic/York Rite/Eastern Star lighted sign on the building.

We now have a more efficient building that we all can be proud of.

 Special Note To The Brethren
Member's of all Jackson-Coolidge Masonic Bodies

We are in need of your email address for transmitting the electronic version of the Jackson/Coolidge MTA Trestleboard on a monthly basis. It is becoming more expensive to produce the Trestleboard due to rising postal rates and the cost to make the printed copies. (We usually print about 300 copies). If you would still like to receive it by mail that is fine too.
Just let us know your preference.
