Greeting's From The East

WM 17
Frank W. Lutze
Worshipful Master
517-563-8338

Dear  ,

Greetings,

Happy New Years to you and your families.

The 2011 installation of officers on December 11 at Napoleon Lodge #301 was well attended by brethren, family and friends.  I believe that we have a great line, with a strong combination of experience and enthusiasm, to carry us forward in the coming year.  Thanks to the brethren of Napoleon Lodge for opening their Lodge to us while our lodge is undergoing renovation.

I am deeply honored to have been nominated, elected and installed Worshipful Master.  Jackson Lodge #17 has a long and rich history.  The depth of this history is witnessed by the fact that I have the privilege of being the 163rd Master of our lodge.  We live in a "here today, gone tomorrow" society so it is comforting to be a part of this rich and enduring history.

Worshipful Brother George Otis has been a driving force in coordinating the renovation of our temple.  The new heat and air conditioning systems are operational and the carpet has been ordered.  There is a good chance that our January Regular Communication will be held at the Jackson-Coolidge Masonic Temple.

Thanks to our Junior Past Master, Michael Hicks, for his contribution to the Craft during 2010.

The New Year promises to be a busy one with six candidates ready for initiation and another petition that has been read.   What better time to attend a Regular, congratulate the new officers, renew friendships or polish your ritual work by helping with a degree.

I am looking forward to greeting all of you in Lodge at the January Regular.

Fraternally,

Frank W. Lutze

Worshipful Master

TEN MASTER MASONS

Ten Master Masons, happy, doing fine;
One listened to a rumor, then there were nine.

Nine Master Masons, faithful, never late;
One didn't like the "Master," then there were eight.

Eight Master Masons, on their way to heaven;
One joined too many clubs, then there were seven.

Seven Master Masons, life dealt some hard licks;
One grew discouraged, then there were six.

Six Master Masons, all very much alive;
One lost his interest, then there were five.

Five Master Masons, wishing there were more;
Got into a great dispute, then there were four.

Four Master Masons, busy as could be;
One didn't like the programs, then there were three.

Three Master Masons, was one of them you?
One grew tired of all the work, then there were two.

Two Master Masons with so much to be done;
One said "What's the use," then there was one.

One Master Mason, found a brother -- true!
Brought him to the Lodge, then there were two.

Two Master Masons didn't find work a bore;
Each brought another, then there were four.

Four Master Masons saved their Lodges fate;
By showing others kindness, then there were eight.

Eight Master Masons, loving their Lodges bright sheen;
Talked so much about it, they soon counted sixteen.

Sixteen Master Masons, to their obligations true;
Were pleased when their number went to thirty-two.

So we can't put our troubles at the Lodges door;
It's our fault for harming the Lodge we adore.

Don't fuss about the programs or the "Master" in the East;
Keep your obligation by serving even the very least.

By Bro. George Chavez (Lodge unknown)

We have just completed a massive project at our Masonic Center in Michigan Center. We had to do the following:

  • Clean the entire building and replace the furnaces. Install new  rooftop heating and air conditioning units with new air ducts.
  • Throw away a lot of items that are of little use to us anymore.
  •  New Hanging Sign out front and in the very near future a new Masonic/York Rite/Eastern Star lighted sign on the building.

We now have a more efficient building that we all can be proud of.

COSTLY - YES BUT NECESSARY

Special Note To The Brethren

 Member's of all Jackson-Coolidge Masonic Bodies

We are in need of your email address for transmitting the electronic version of the Jackson/Coolidge MTA Trestleboard on a monthly basis. It is becoming more expensive to produce the Trestleboard due to rising postal rates and the cost to make the printed copies. (We usually print about 300 copies). If you would still like to receive it by mail that is fine too.
Just let us know your preference.
