The holiday season has arrived and Christmas is not far off. This is the time of year we are reminded to give thanks to the Great Architect of the Universe and all of those that have made our lives better this past year.Have you made a life better for someone this year?I hope so. I am thankful for all of the Brothers that have helped keep our Lodge going this past year.You have helped start a food bank in Michigan Center and continue to support it by donating food items and time to keep it up and running.You have met hundreds of children through the Michigan Child Identification program and Kid's Fest.We had the past masters float in the Rose Parade with the officers and several past masters on it. Brothers had to drive to Detroit and get the float and then return it after the parade. We recently had a Master's Table gathering at the Ground Round restaurant that had a good showing of Brothers including a couple of new candidates for out lodge.Thanks to Brother Lyman Robertson for making the arrangements. Brothers like George Otis and Dale Brown show up to the Temple every Friday to clean. Brother Todd Rubert spends many hours showing renters the Temple and making sure all is right for them. Many Brothers have participated in memorials for our departed Brethren.These are just things around our lodge that happen. Many of you are also involved in our communities helping others. You should be very proud of what you do!

Congratulations to Brother Frank Lutze on being elected Worshipful Master. We are looking forward to a great year. I know Brother Frank has a busy year planned.  Congratulations to Worshipful Brother George Otis on being elected "Mason of the Year" for Jackson 17. Brother George is very deserving of the award as he has put in an amazing number of hours in the Temple this year.When you see Brother George congratulate him and thank him for all he does.We have other Brothers who also deserve congratulations. Brother Adam Wygant was awarded the "Grand Commander's Service Award" by Jackson Commandery No. 9 and the Right Eminent Grand Commander Loren Winn at the dinner which followed inspection this year.Also congratulations to Worshipful Brother Steve Vining on being the newest member of Jackson York Rite College No 3. Brother Steve is also our Regional Grand Lecturer. We have many Brothers that make us who we are and I thank them all.

We hope to be back in our building by the first of the year. As you may know a new heating and cooling system is being installed. Our building has been cleaned from one end to the other and will be like a new building when we return. We are grateful to our fellow lodges that have helped us out in this time of need. We have groups meeting in Napoleon, Parma, Mason, and Tecumseh while our building is being worked on.This endeavor is costing a lot of money and we sure could use your help with a donation of some type. We will be a stronger lodge when this is over. Best wishes to all of you and Merry Christmas. Spend time with family and friends.

• Clean the entire Temple and replace the furnaces. Install NEW rooftop heating and air conditioning units with new air ducts.
• Throw away a lot of items that are of little use to us anymore.
•  New Hanging Sign out front and in the very near future a new Masonic/York Rite/Eastern Star lighted sign on the building.
