Greetings! ,

It seems like this year is quickly moving by.  It certainly is busy as the days are getting warmer and the kids are getting closer to that summer vacation from school. If you are like me you are going to ball games of your children or grandchildren or nieces or nephews or maybe your own. It is the time of year when some of us are trying to find time to get to the golf course or do some outside work around the house. Well please remember that you lodge also needs you now and then. We would like to see you at our regular meetings so we can get to know each other better. We have several events coming up where we really need our Brothers to step up and help. We need help for the Day in the Park after the Rose Parade on June 6th and Kid's Fest on June 18th when we will be doing the Michigan Child Identification Program at the American One building at the fairgrounds. These are two great opportunities to serve your Lodge and show the people in our community what Masonry is all about.

I read somewhere recently, "the only one thing I can change is myself, but sometimes that makes all of the difference". The beauty and glory of the day is always better when the Brothers of Jackson Lodge 17 turn up the light and put Masonic ideals to work. We have opportunities each day to make life a little better for someone else. Let's not miss those opportunities that not only make life better for others but also bring a little more light into our lives. Sometimes a simple task can make a huge difference. Don't forget to check out our website from time to time and tell Steve Vining thanks for keeping it up and running. Steve has put a lot of useful information on the website, check it out.

Fraternally,

Michael E. Hicks
