"The Most Interesting Man in the World!"
Randy Koch
I remember my initial thought when I saw local San Diego icon, Randy Koch for the very first time. Randy is a mountain of man who carries himself with an air of quiet confidence. His piercing blue eyes can look right through you. My initial impression, based on years of police work was that maybe he was an "H.A." member or associate. "H.A." is of course police short hand for a Hell's Angel, (Motorcycle Club Member).
You can Imagine my humble and embarassing reaction when I asked a neighbor, "Who is the big guy with the hair"? "Oh that's Randy. I think he makes draperies and bed coverings". Are you kidding me? He looks way too dangerous. Of course he is one of the kindest and most caring persons I have ever met in my life. It is true he had an upscale interior design business, but he has since moved on to building cutting edge skateboards and lots of other really cool stuff.
Most people do not know it, but Randy was actually asked to be the man behind the famous Dos Equis beer commercials. He unfortunately told them he does not always drink, but when he does it is Corona Light, Long Board Ale or a variety of other beers. I told him that is why he lost the job. All joking aside, I cannot say enough great things about Randy who is pictured below with his wife Tami, son Kevin, daughter Rachel, and their dogs, Max and Harley.
 If you would like to meet the "Most Interesting Man in The World" be sure to come to the 4S Ranch Del Sur Foundation Casino Night this Saturday evening, (SEE BELOW). There is an excellent chance Randy will be sky diving into the party. Randy knows how to make an entrance. After all, he has to be there. He and his wife Tami are graciously hosting the 4S Ranch Del Sur Community Foundation Event at their home in Ivy Gate!
It was Randy's caring and amazing generosity that also made him stand out as the winner of the 92127 EMagazine Quarterly Leadership Award! We had several excellent nominations, but Randy's ability to build consensus and proven ability to make a difference in the lives of people around him is what set him apart. Congratulations Randy Koch. I know you will shun the attention but you really earned it!
When you see Randy around 4S Ranch be sure to congratulate him on his selection and feel free to ask him any question on any subject. After all, Randy really is the, "Most Interesting Man in the World".
