Greetings!
You hear it all the time. "They must be successful, just look at the car they drive, the home they live in, the clothes they wear, fill in the blank." We're all guilty of doing it. We all tend to judge people we meet based on superficial observation don't we? I like to think as I've gotten older and hopefully wiser that I can try to look beyond all that and see the person behind the mask. I guess the real question is, how do you define success? Not just in others but in yourself. One dictionary definition of success says this, the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors.
For myself I look at it more as a state of being. How do I conduct my life? How do I think about and treat the people I encounter on a daily basis? Success is more than an achievement, it is a state of mind. I tell my kids, strive to be a person of value. If you are the best you can be at whatever endeavor you choose, you will be a success.
As the old saying goes, "We are human beings not human doings". So remember, success is not in the doing, it's in the being. I love you guys, God Bless, Don
