Dear   :

With those words, NBC5 News Reporter, Alex Perez, summed up a month's worth of newspaper, internet, radio, and television media stories featuring the Phenoms of B2M.

On the evening of Monday, August 9, 2010 during the 10:00 p.m. newscast on NBC5 Chicago, countless people were glued to their television screens to watch Alex's highly anticipated story on Boys II Men .... and everyone was pleased.  In fact, it was such a dynamic story, that it also aired the following day on the NBC5 Morning Show, was featured on the national MSNBC's The Grio.com website, and was Facebooked and re-tweeted by countless people.

The NBC5 feature not only concluded an unprecedented month, but it also opened a new era in B2M; an era that begins with requests for new chapters all over the country and as far away as Freeport, Bahamas.

All of our media partners and supporters are integral to the future success of Boys II Men. We thank Alex Perez (NBC5 Chicago), Todd Johnson (MSNBC's The Grio.com), Adam Welton (Radio Disney), Stephanie Lulay (Aurora Beacon News), Marissa Mitchell (News21) and the folks at Bays News 9 in Tampa, Florida, for their coverage of the Phenoms & Scholars of B2M.  Take a look below at some of the highlights of our media-month!

Here's to a new era ...

Boys II Men is filled with full-circle moments. One of those such moments happen in mid-July when B2M Scholar and Phenomenal Man of the Year Award recipient, Adam Welton (center), invited Boys II Men to his Radio Disney Studios to talk about the organization that helped to change their lives.

B2M Co-Presidents, Jomar Mendoza (left) of West Aurora and Juan DeLaTorre (right) of East Aurora, shared their stories with the popular Radio Disney Host.

Adam is a 2004 graduate of East Aurora High School, a 2008 graduate of Northwestern University, and now is one of Radio Disney's most vibrant personalities. He featured Boys II Men in his weekly segment promoting community organizations that are inspiring Chicagoland.

Long before Andre Jones stepped up as the first President of Tampa's Boys II Men Chapter in 2009, he knew that he wanted to achieve success and make history in the process. This summer, he did just that when he became the first student ever at his high school to sign a Letter of Intent for athletics to a D-1 university.

Watch the Tampa Bay News 9 interview with Andre as he signs to run track for the University of Missouri at Kansas City on a full-ride scholarship. In addition to being an Honors Student, President of Future Business Leaders of America, and the voice of B2M in Tampa, Andre is a regional, sectional, and state track star!

The B2M Phenoms were joined by their sisters, East Aurora's Susan Salinas (Miss Teen Kane County) and Iliana Rivera (East Aurora's Student Board Member), in an exclusive interview with Marissa Mitchell of News21 for a special feature, Beyond the Border.

Beyond the Border is a journalism initiative exploring the roles that young urban Latinos play in American society. The project goes beyond immigration issues, looking specifically at how young Latinos are becoming increasingly involved with education and politics.

The interviews will be featured on a special website that will be launched soon. In the meantime, click to watch B2M Scholar, Samuel Nunez, explain how his culture goes Beyond the Border!
