Understanding California’s Demographic Shifts
Under the direction of Senior Research Scholar Adele Hayutin, the Stanford Center on Longevity has produced a study of California’s changing demographics. The report includes demographic profiles of more than 200 communities in California, illustrating shifts in age structure and changes in ethnic and racial composition. The project was developed for the California State Library to facilitate greater understanding of how demographic characteristics differ across the state and to help inform decisions regarding changing needs of local communities.

The Research Center on the Prevention of Financial Fraud held its inaugural conference "The State and Future of Financial Fraud: Connecting Research and Practice," in Washington D.C. on Nov 3-4. The sold-out event included keynote speeches from Mary Schapiro, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Robert Cialdini, Ph.D., President of Influence at Work and Regents’ Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Marketing at Arizona State University and Neil MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia as well as a series of discussions on profiling, prevention and detection that paired academic researchers with field practitioners.
