The Villages is Celebrating 45 Years! 

 

Did you realize that The Villages will be 45 years "young" on August 27, 2012?     Since this is such a special year, many events are planned to commemorate the Villages' Anniversary! 

 

April 28 - Community Wide OPEN HOUSE

 

May 30 - Quarter of a Century Resident party (for all the residents who have lived more than 25 years at the Villages)

 

June 15 - Anniversary Dinner - Turn back time to the Sixties with the Island Wave Band a buffet dinner. 

 

July 4 - 4th of July Parade - 1967 was a big year - Wimbledon, Kentucky Derby, Franki Valli, Bobbie Gentry, Bobby Vee, The Rolling Stones, Elvis, Jefferson Airplane, Snow White, World Series with Red Sox vs St. Louis, Bonnie & Clyde, Cool Hand Luke, The Beatles.  Come out to see what the participants have chosen for their float!

 

July 28 - Outdoor Movie at Cribari Patio - "Viva Las Vegas" with BBQ burgers, hot dogs, sodas and popcorn.

 

August 25 - "Blast from the Past" with Joni Morris and the After Midnight Band presenting a Tribute to Patsy Cline and tunes from the Sixties.

 

August 28 - Anniversary Cake served in the Clubhouse   

 

The Community Activities Department has been very busy this year with these special events in addition to all the Giants games, Fleet Week, Cavalia,  San Francisco theatre performances, etc.all scheduled on buses to transport us for hassle-free enjoyment.
