Greetings from B & A Realtors
Greetings!

Is the hustle and bustle of the holiday season getting you down?

I don't know about you, but this time of year with so many things to do, I sometimes feel like I am one step behind and can't keep up...holiday parties, Christmas shopping, packed malls, year-end projects, etc.  I can become impatient.  Remember as we go through the holiday season what it is all about...giving to others and spending time with family and friends!

Best Wishes for a Happy Holidays!

Carla

Start Shopping with Reusable Bags NOW

In December 2010, the City of San Jos adopted a Single-Use Carryout Bag ordinance that bans single use plastic carryout bags. The ordinance will begin on January 1, 2012 at which point consumers at all grocery and retail stores in San Jos will have the option to bring their own reusable bags or pay a minimum price for recycled-content paper bags.

Consider the following to prepare for the ordinance: A high-quality reusable bag has the potential to replace over 600 single-use plastic bags over its lifetime. Plastic bags are one of the most common litter items found in creek cleanups. Paper bags are just as problematic as taking 14 million trees each year in the United States to produce a year's supply for retail use. Shopping with reusable bags is a great way to take part in reducing litter and conserving natural resources. Consider the following to help you avoid the bag charge:

  • Start shopping with a reusable bag now.
  • Keep reusable bags by the door, in your car or near car keys.
  • Keep foldable bags in pockets, backpacks or your purse.
  • Give your friends and family a reusable bag and encourage them to start shopping with them today.

The Villages Proposed Bistro and Bar

The Villages have been working hard over the past months to present the proposed Bistro and Bar Initiative to the community.     This will bring a whole new social element to The Villages.    It will be attached to the present Clubhouse facing the golf course and a casual place to enjoy friends, family, and guests in a relaxed social environment with food and drink from early morning to late evening.     It is planned to have special menus available that will appeal to golfers, tennis players, sports enthusiasts from young to older family members.

The Red Hat Society's primary purpose is social interaction among women, and to encourage fun, friendship, freedom, fulfillment, and fitness. The goal is for members to bond as they travel through life together.

For more information to a Villages group, contact Shirley Laddy of the Scarlet Sirens at [email protected]

The founder of the Society is artist Sue Ellen Cooper.  In 1997, Cooper gave a friend a 55th birthday gift consisting of a red bowler purchased at an antique store along with a copy of Jenny Joseph's poem "Warning".  The opening lines of the poem read:

"When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me."
