Greetings from B & A Realtors
Greetings!

WHO LIVES IN THE VILLAGES?

I have been asked many times about people living in The Villages.   Due to confidentiality, I am not able to give names and this is what I can tell you.

We are not a Retirement community nor a low-income housing project!   Our residents are from all walks of life including sports, politics, business, education, the medical profession and entertainment.    We have former CEO's, Presidents, engineers, doctors, college professors, retired NFL players, artists, motor sports racing, football coaches, TV/radio personalities and anyone that you can think about.

Our residents move to the community for the peace-of-mind with the gated entrance, active recreational environment, and the privacy.

When do residents move here?  Some individuals/couples move here as soon as they or one of them is age 55.  Others have to wait until their nest is empty.  And some move here after retirement - especially if they move to The Villages from another state.

As for me, I moved to The Villages in 2000 for the security and an opportunity to reconnect with the hills and wildlife.    The social activities are numerous so one never wants for something to do and without getting into a car, just walk or hop onto your golf cart and go meet your friends!

Prices are at the Mid-1990 offerings!

Now is the time to purchase, don't let an opportunity to purchase with low interest rates and low prices pass you buy.

We have Villas and homes currently being offered from $128,000 to $745,000.  CALL today at (408) 274.8766 for a tour and find your home in this "hidden gem" in Santa Clara Valley.

Friends of San Jose State University have invited new President to Dinner

Are you a Friend of San Jose State University and interested in learning what is planned at the University?    Come out and meet the new University President, Dr. (Mo) Mohammad Qayoumi on Wednesday, September 7 at the Villages Clubhouse.  For a reservation, call Pat Hanzad (408) 223.9474.     If you are a resident, the dinner will be billed on your house account and non-residents can make a check payable to "Friends of SJSU".    Hope to see you at the dinner (Yes, I am a SJSU graduate!).

Selling Your Gold Jewelry

With the price of gold reaching all-time highs per ounce, selling your unwanted gold jewelry may be a great way to build your savings or pay off debt. Remember, that 14-karat gold is only 58.5% pure gold. Remove any gems before offering your pieces for sale, and be aware that some well designed or antique jewelry may be worth more than its weight in gold.

Make sure the potential buyer has a clean record and a grade of at least A-minus with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The prices buyers pay vary widely.  Kay Jewelers pay about 50% of the melt down value.  The on-line company Gold Stash for Cash will pay you around 80% but this will involve sending in your jewelry. Call them at 877.800.1077 or Visit them online.  These two are mentioned as companies that both meet the clean record and BBB criteria.

If you decide to sell locally, get at least two and preferably three bids and let the bidders know that you are comparing offers. Do one transaction and make sure you are satisfied.

Finally, do not forget the taxman. Gold jewelry is treated as collectibles and gains are currently taxed at up to 28%.

Client/Business Associate Testimonial:

"Carla, Thank you for letting us scope out The Villages.  One thing it did do for us was eliminate Rossmoor as a place to move.  The openness of the Villages and the type of people we saw there is several notches above Rossmoor.  As soon as we sell our home in Bermuda Dunes, we are moving to the Villages." - Bud Landeck, Prospective Buyer
