How to Fix Timeslips
Too Many Record Locks Error 
While overall Timeslips v2012 has been working well, we have been seeing a lot of reports of the error "Too Many Record Locks on Table". The details will show the problem being in the "Table: Features".  

Timeslips technical support is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. Howerver, ifyou get this error AND it is on this table then it can be fixed fairly easily by following these steps: 

  1. Make a backup of your Timeslips database
  2. Note the location of your Timeslips database in the lower left of your screen
  3. Create an empty Timeslips database by going to file - new - database - empty. Just accept the defaults, do not fill in any information. When it asks for a user and you don't put in a name, it will exit.
  4. Make sure everyone is out of Timeslips and stays out until you are finished with step 8.
  5. In Windows explorer copy navigate to the empty database and copy all of the features tables and featureusage tables  and paste them into your real database. Overwrite existing files.
  6. Open Timeslips and make sure you are in your real database
  7. Go to setup - preferences - menu and commands. Uncheck "Display offers and product messages"
  8. Go to setup - features enabled - special.  Uncheck "Feature usage messages"
