Maximize Your Vacation OwnershipNov/Dec 2010
Greetings!

Happy Holidays! This time of year is very important for Marriott owners as some decisions regarding your ownership weeks need to be made before the end of the year. Below is a review of the end of year planning you should be doing.

2011 Planning

Here are your 2011 usage options for your timeshare ownership weeks.

Convert to Marriott Rewards Points - If you have the option for 2011 to turn your week(s) into Marriott Rewards points, this needs to be completed by December 31, 2010. You can turn to points online or by calling Owner Services. Marriott Rewards Points never expire so if you are unsure if you can use your week(s) in 2011, it is best to protect the value of your ownership by turning it into points.

Book a Week to Occupy - Many of the weeks have already been booked but if you have plans to occupy your home resort then this is the time to do it. Many owners will start calling in January to snap up the remaining 2011 weeks so don't delay--make a decision as to when you MAY want to travel. If you choose not to travel when you have booked, you can always deposit it with Interval International 60 days prior to the check-in date.

Book a Week to Trade - To bank a week for the future, book a high demand week to trade at your home resort.  Don't let Marriott deposit any week for you--pick a high demand week and deposit that week with Interval. This will give you a better trade and improve your chances of trading for the resort that you want.

Elect Club Points - If you have enrolled in the new Marriot Destination Points program then you can choose to turn any of your weeks into Club points. This is just an option. If you choose to turn your 2011 usage week(s) into Club points, you must elect to do so by June, 2011. In the future,  you must elect Club points by September of the previous usage year but Marriott is extending your option for Club points for 2011 usage until June 30, 2011.

With all of the decisions that you have to make each year for each of your ownership weeks, it can be overwhelming. If you would like expert advice to ensure you are making the BEST decisions that you can for your ownership, then Contact Us today.
Interval International Changes
Computer
Interval International recently converted their computer system to a new platform. In the past you would sign on to the website with your Interval account number and password but now you require a user id. When you try to log on for the first time to the new website you will be prompted to create a "user profile".  For our Platinum Members, we will create a new user id for you comprised of the first initial of your first name and your last name.  We will reuse the current password. If you have already created a new user id, please let us know.

I hope you found this newsletter valuable. As you head into the holidays, take some time to complete your 2011 usage options as 2012 planning is just around the corner. If you would like some personal assistance, please contact us to set up a consultation appointment. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I love River Cruising! I just returned from a trip down the Rhine and had a wonderful time. It is a great way to see many cities within the interior of Europe. Join us on my latest offering down the Rhone River from Lyon to Arles, France.   The sailing is not until May, 2012 but I am offering great promotional pricing through December 2010. We already have 6 people booked so don't delay as space is limited. Use your Marriott Rewards Points for hotels in Paris and Business Class air travel.

Ritz-Carlton hotels are now arranged into 5 tiers, similar to the Marriott hotel tiers. You can redeem your Marriott Rewards points for free stays at Ritz-Carlton hotels. You require from 30,000 to 70,000 points per night and the 5th night is free.
This recent change requires you to spend more points than in the past for many of the resorts although some hotels do require fewer points.
