Reward Yourself with a Cruise

Cruising is hot! Whether you like big ships, small ships,
all-inclusive ships or river boats, there are more itineraries and types of
cruisin g being offered than ever before. All of the major companies are
introducing new ships and incentives to entice cruisers, and it is working. River
cruising, the fastest growing segment of the travel industry, has increased bookings
by over 60% so far this year!
There are three costs associated with cruising: flights, pre-
and post-hotel stays and the cruise itself. As a Marriott owner, you can defray
the costs of the flights and hotel stays by using your Rewards points. The most
popular cruises are within Europe and airfare can add significantly to the cost
of your vacation. Some cruise companies include "free" air in their promotions
but you can choose to take an "air credit" and put upwards of $800 each back in
your wallet. You can then use your points to fly to your embarkation port in
coach or business class and enjoy a pre- or post- stay at a Marriott
hotel. You can save thousands of
dollars!
Most recently, we booked a client on a 15-day Avalon River Cruise through France. Using points, they flew over to Europe in Business
Class, stayed pre-cruise in Paris for 5 nights at the Marriott Champs-Elysees
hotel and 3 nights post-cruise at the Monaco Marriott--a value of $12,000!

MVCI will be announcing a new program this month. Details are not
currently available but it involves a new timeshare "points" system, allowing
owners to reserve Marriott timeshare stays directly through Marriott and bypassing
Interval International. Owners
will be required to "buy-in" to the program in order to take advantage of this
new service. We will keep you updated as information is made available, and
offer our unbiased analysis of the program
