Welcome to the MAHPERD news!MAHPERD logo

Happy New Year to you all! Thanks to each of you for being at the conference! Thanks for paying your own way, presenting, presiding, bringing a theme basket, participating in the Ocean Run, attending the awards basket, donating to the silent auction and just for being there!

2010-Yes We Can! We can be better and stronger! We can survive budget cuts, staff reductions and consolidation. MAHPERD has representation on the Governor's Council for Physical Activity, the Diploma Stakeholders Committee, Key Advisory Committee, the Secondary Wellness Portfolio for Health Education and Physical Education Committee, Adapted Physical Education Task Force Committee and the Maine Youth Fitness Project. Thanks to all of you who are working hard on these committees to advance Health Education and Physical Education.

In the next few days our Physical Education Consultant, Jayne Chase, will send out an email which will contain a PreK-8 Physical Education Assessment Survey.  It is so important for each of you who teach PreK-8 to complete this survey. Please take 15-20 minutes to complete this time sensitive survey and help us out!

Be well, stay fit and together we can!

Executive Director
