Children's Pageant and Advent Celebration December 5
On Sunday, December 5, the children's annual Christmas pageant will be presented immediately following the 10 a.m. worship service in the Sanctuary. This is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit as we see the Christmas through the eyes and voices of our children. Come Home for Christmas
The Advent Celebration will be held immediately following the Children's Pageant on December 5. Please join everyone in the Great Hall for lunch, followed by crafts that will add a festive Christmas spirit to your home. As we celebrate what it means to be 'Home' for Christmas, families can make personal keepsakes that are sure to become a cherished part of one's family collection. Create a hand-print Christmas tree wall hanging made by you and your family members, traditional pine bough swags, and even a nativity scene with the Holy Family. And it wouldn't be the Advent Celebration without cookies decorated by you and your family. For more information and registration details, please look for sign-up tables on Sundays or contact Jan Snell, 651-223-7547 or jans@hohchurch.org. Cost is $5 per person or $20 per household. What role can non-governmental actors play in supporting government- led efforts? The speaker will be Richard Virden, who retired from the U.S. State Department in 2004 with the rank of Minister-Counselor. His assignments abroad included postings in Brazil, Poland, Thailand Portugal, Romania and Vietnam. He is a graduate of the War College and taught there for two years. Adult Gathering, Christmas Dinner Party
December 17
ATTENTION All House of Hope Adults (Singles and Couples, New and Long-term Members and Friends): The House of Hope Adult Gathering, Christmas Dinner Party, will be Friday, December 17, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. Plan to join us for the Annual House of Hope Christmas Party at the Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville. The party has been moved to a Friday evening, so it won't conflict with the many Sunday Advent events at church, and so baby sitters won't have school the next morning. The evening begins with a social time followed by dinner, carol-singing and entertainment. We are delighted that we'll be hearing about Christmas from a number of House of Hope friends again this year, and Aaron David Miller will be providing music. Watch for additional information in The Anchor, weekly e-mail news and the Sunday bulletin. There will be sign-up opportunities outside the Kirk Parlour on Sundays, November 21 and 28, and December 5 and 12. You can also sign up in the church office. The cost is $45 per person.
