Summer Carillon Recital Series Concludes August 1
The 2010 SUMMER CARILLON RECITAL SERIES concludes Sunday, August 1, at 4 p.m., with a recital by House of Hope Carillonneur David Johnson. Dr. Johnson became a Carillonneur member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North American in 1996. He served for ten years as the guild's recording secretary prior to his recent election as its president. He performs regularly throughout the United States. In 2006 he played the inaugural recital for the carillon at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, and in 2008 performed during the American Guild of Organists National Convention. Dr. Johnson has been carillonneur at House of Hope since 1993. Carillon recitals can be heard from the church lawns. Bring a blanket or chair, your family and friends, and a picnic lunch to enjoy while you listen to the lovely sounds of the Noyes Memorial Carillon. If weather proves uncooperative, there are always comfortable locations inside where the recitals can be heard.
