TAMPA CATHOLIC GRADUATES THE CLASS OF 2010

On Tuesday, May 25, 2010 178 young men and women received their high school diplomas when Tampa Catholic High School held its forty-sixth commencement exercises at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. As graduates of Tampa Catholic they join more than eight thousand other graduates as alumni of the school.

The Class of 2010 distinguished themselves in the classroom, on the field of athletic competition and in their volunteer work in the local community. They also raised funds to present a gift of $829 to the school's Rod Lindsay Alumni Scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance to an alumni family who otherwise could not afford to send their child to Tampa Catholic. Several thousand dollars was also given to benefit Catholic Charity programs that aid the homeless and the victims of the Haitian earthquake.

"We are proud of our 2010 graduates." said Tampa Catholic principal Thomas J. Reidy. "They truly exemplify the qualities of faith, excellence and family, which define the Tampa Catholic High School educational experience."
  • 99% of the 2010 graduating class will continue their education at a college or university;
  • 73% received some form of free financial aid in the form of a grant or scholarship;
  • 65% qualified for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship program, which provides up to 100% tuition to a Florida college or university;
  • class as a whole was offered scholarships with a total value in excess of 11.9 million dollars.

Great job, Class of 2010.  As the song goes, "..we hope you had the time of your lives."

The Gift you have been given...
Give as a Gift!

 As alumni we can be proud for the Class of 2010. Their accomplishments continue a legacy of excellence that has defined Tampa Catholic High School since it opened in 1962. As graduates, the Class of 2010, join an exclusive and highly respected group - the TC Alumni with over 8,000 members.

As TC students we were always ready to rally in support of those in need. Now TC is calling out for you its alumni to come together in support of our school! Tampa Catholic is self-supporting and receives no direct funding from the Diocese of St. Petersburg or any of its parishes. We depend on donations from TC alumni and other friends of TC to cover extraordinary expenses.

One of those extraordinary expenses is tuition assistance. To make TC affordable to as many families as possible we have always set tuition low - our current tuition is $8,760 for a Catholic family. Even though we keep tuition low, there are still families that cannot afford to pay full tuition and Tampa Catholic has always provided financial assistance to as many of those qualified families as possible. This past school year 187 families received $483,000 in tuition assistance. But now we see that the need is going to be even greater the upcoming school year.

As alumni we have received a gift of a Tampa Catholic education. By making your tax-deductible donation to the 2010 Crusader Annual Fund, you will allow us to continue to give the finest in Catholic education to all who wish to attend TC. It will keep us forever a school strong in its traditions of faith, excellence and family.

Make your donations securely online at
www.tampacatholic.org/advancement . There you can have the option to spread your donation out in monthly payments form your credit card or bank account.
