SPRING IS IN THE AIR

We are getting closer and closer to the start of our summer PACE Races.  Two Fathers Day races, the RUN FOR THE RIBBON in Michigan, and the FATHERS DAY 5K in Pennsylvania are underway and expecting over 2,000 participants each. 2010 is going to be a huge year for growth and new opportunities!

I am excited to announce a new PACE Race event, SET THE PACE for prostate cancer, will be hosted on September 5th in Denver, Colorado. The race will kick off the September Prostate Cancer Month by honoring the prostate cancer patients and survivors, as well as the families and friends who support them on a daily basis. We will be working along The Urology Center of Colorado Foundation, who is hosting a Blue Shoe Prostate Cancer run/walk at the end of September closing it. These two races will increase the focus on prostate cancer awareness and serve as a pilot project for new and updated race formats.

Additionally, I will be working with each PACE Race event around the country to find new ways to reach out to the local community and enhance our focus on survivors and their support networks. Start brainstorming new ideas and a wish list for your race!

PACE SPOKESMEN
We are grateful to have Bart Yasso, Bill Rodgers and Benji Durden on our team and supporting the cause. We also want to welcome Gayle Barron, another marathon legend and fitness expert who made an appearance at our F.A.S.T PACE Race in Cumming Georgia, thanks Gayle!

The PACE Race website is up, although we are still currently making changes, if you registration site is ready to go live, please send me the URL, so it is available to our viewers at the PACE Race website.

The PACE Race Facebook is growing and we need your support! If your race does not already have a Facebook page, I encourage you to create one. This is a great way for us to reach out to the participants and create more "word of mouth" social marketing.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Week 2010
It is important that the education and awareness raised thought the PACE Race Series culminates with men taking action!  Prostate Cancer Awareness  Week 2010  will be help September 19-25th.  Encourage all your runners, from each of your events, to take advantage of this Free Prostate Health Screening program.
