Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteer network, the Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC) has been able to reach millions of men and the women to raise much needed awareness of prostate cancer.  Now, PCEC is proud to offer a new resource to help support our volunteers in their valuable efforts.  The PCEC Volunteer Toolkit - available at www.prostateconditions.org - is a comprehensive resource providing information and template materials developed to help you generate greater prostate cancer awareness, extend the reach of your efforts and raise essential funds for prostate cancer.

Specifically, resources include:

Prostate Awareness and Cancer Education (PACE) Race Series: A national 5K walk/run series, the PACE Race provides an opportunity for men, women and children - at all fitness levels - to raise awareness and fight against the disease.  In this section of the toolkit, learn more about how to get involved in a local race or start a PACE Race in your community.  Additionally, template press materials and information are available to help you raise awareness of your race.

Raising Awareness in Your Community: Raising awareness of this deadly disease is key to fighting prostate cancer.  In this section, volunteers can access information and template materials for raising awareness throughout the year, including PCEC's marquee Prostate Cancer Awareness Week (PCAW) program.  Additionally, the toolkit provides tools and tips for working with the media.

Screening Events in Your Community: One of the most prevalent cancers in men, prostate cancer is also among the most treatable when discovered early.  You can make a difference by hosting a prostate cancer screening event in your community.  The toolkit provides information to get you started, including how to become a screening site and a list of screening site benefits.

Spreading the Word: A read-to-use PowerPoint presentation is also available to help you educate others about prostate cancer and the importance of early detection/screening. Use the presentation as is, or adapt it to include your personal story!

Letter to My Legislator: Use your voice for prostate cancer!  Funding for prostate cancer research is vital to ensuring advancements in the detection and treatment of the disease.  As new legislation/bills come under consideration, use this template letter to your legislator to reach out to your legislators encouraging their support of prostate cancer research funding.
